Ernie Banks Interview – Talking Baseball with Mr. Cub

Could there possibly be a better ambassador for the Cubs than Ernie Banks? Mr. Cub discusses (with tons of soft-spoken class) his surprise that Soriano is not yet 100% ("Dawson had the same surgery and came back strong"), his ongoing relationship with Sammy Sosa (?!?!) and his advice for Sammy as he deals with steroids allegations, and what he thinks of the players who used steroids to break Banks' record and all those in the 500+ Home Run Club.

Mr. Cub is also one of the rare older players who readily admits that the pressures to perform are greater today than in his day. It's rather refreshing to hear Banks' respect for the current generation of players (he even has good things to say about Milton Bradley (?!?!). I also enjoyed listening to Banks' reflecting on his 500th home run.
