Back in October Dr. Douchebag gave us the joy of discovering Batting Stance Guy and, look at him now! All grown up and on Letterman's Late Show! BattingStanceGuy.com is simple in its purpose -- one man takes on the batting stances of players from the 1980s-Now. If you were coming of age in the mid-80s then BattingStanceGuy will have you reminiscing about playing whiffle ball in the back yard and adjusting your stance for the All-Stars of the day.

During yesteryday's game, Bud Selig told Len & Bob that he is "monitoring the economic situation very closely." Wish he would have done the same with the steroid situation 10 years ago. Selig claims that "everything was done" to curb the steroid problem and his chief evidence is the nine year old minor league program that cut steroid use from 9% to a 1/2% -- yeah, who can forget the huge minor league steroid problem in 1999? When asked about the impact of steroids on baseball's cherished records and the Hall of Fame, Selig quickly countered that drugs have always been a part of baseball through the ages!?!? He actually said that starting with the 1930's on through the 1980's to today, drugs have always had a presence and HE ALONE should be praised for being the first commissioner to impose a drug test. Once again, this interview renews the call for a truly unbiased baseball commissioner.
Dr. Douchebag gave me the heads up to one of the most entertaining/nostalgic/LOL web sites. Classic stuff that helps with the postseason healing process.

Testing ... Testing ... 123 ...
It's been about a week since the sudden collapse of the 2008 Chicago Cubs season and I have decided to air my frustration, joy, rage, and (above all) misery in/of being a loyal Cubs fan via this blog.
A few quick answers to the questions I know are circling in your head:
Why Should I Read This Blog? With so many other Cubs blogs out there, what will be different about this one?
MiserableCubsFan.com will be devoted to offering my (and a few other miserable buddies') take on the current state of the Cubs in an effort to get an entertainingly knowledgeable discussion going. I will post audio and video clips of Cubs players, management, and fans to stoke the fires and get you to respond and leave comments. I will also review and give away all the Cubs books and memorabelia that I come across in an effort to show my appreciation for your attention to this web site.
Who Are You & How Long Have You Been A Cubs Fan?
I am a Chicago native who can't get the Cubs out my system. I've been a Cubs fan since the early 1980s when I used to spend a few weeks each summer with my grandparents, watching the Cubs on WGN. The meltdown in 1984 forever etched me to the Cub (as Harry called them) and I have devoutly followed their fumbled attempts at winning a World Series ever since. By the way, I previously attempted a Cubs blog in 1997 (back when the Internet sucked) with an endeavor entitled The Miserable Cubs Fan Forum.
Thanks so much for spending time at this site and I hope you enjoy our efforts.
Go Cubs!
Ryan
