How is it possible that a Hall of Famer finds himself golfing alone? I thought Ryno was in the "I Really Do Like To Talk and Be With Other People" phase of his life, so why is he dragging his putter around by himself on a luxurious Arizona golf course? I hope that it's because his swing is in need of some serious work, otherwise I have to believe that this a true reflection of Sandberg's personality. Regardless, Ryno is ready for 2010 and managing the Triple A squad! Listen as Sandberg describes his managerial style, his thoughts on Andre Dawson not wearing a Cub hat in the HOF, and his hopes for Starlin Castro. More ->

It's one thing to feel old when your childhood baseball hero retires, but celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Sandberg game makes me feel ancient. During the winter I always pull out the Cubs DVD Box Set (Chicago Cubs Legends - Great Games Collector's Edition
) to pacify my longings for baseball and I'm always entertained by all aspects of "The Sandberg Game" -- sound fundamentals, tiny players, fans in the stands wearing Cubs painters hats (has their ever been an uglier souvenir?), remembering that half of the Cardinals team was addicted to cocaine at the time, etc. Waddle & Silvy grow nostalgic for the summer of '84 and invite Sandberg and Bruce Sutter to talk about the day. Holy Cow!
